I never took an art class.

While that's not entirely true, I do remember taking an art class or two in middle school, but not since reaching the age of reason (am I there yet?) have I had any formal art or design education. I went to college to be a wildlife biologist and while I did do that for a little while, I quickly realized I was really good at making my data maps and reports look amazing.

From there it was a lot of dabbling and learning on the side; making websites, designing logos for friends, drawing on blank butcher paper to wrap presents rather than spending the $6.99 on a roll of legit gift wrap… Through a ton of hard work, discipline, and generally acting kind towards people, I've managed to accomplish some great things as a designer.

What I do.

Brand identity.  Your logo is the first point of contact any audience has with your brand. I'll come alongside you to craft a design that attracts your audience. Everything from custom lettering, illustration, unique color palettes & typography.

Print design.  Whether it's business cards, brochures, sell sheets, signage and way finding, reports or any other print collateral, nothing has the potential to make animpression like something you can tangibly feel. I've been working with local businesses and printers for over eight years bringing designs and layouts to life.

Illustration & infographics.  You wouldn't think drawing and data are that closely related, but that's exactly what makes information design so intriguing and memorable to users.

Web & social media development.  Your website and social media channels are typically the first place potential clients will discover and interact with you. I apply strategy and on-brand imaging to your digital presence, establishing your credibilty and visibilty online and on social platforms.

and now, for a little show & tell…

While I didn't take any art classes in college, I did take several photography courses. As an aspiring wildlife biologist, I thought that wildlife and landscape photography would be the perfect creative outlet for me. While I do take plenty of photographs for work, these days I'm mostly snapping shots of the scenery I encounter on my off-time.

The Palouse — The region of the Inland Northwest where I live is referred to as the Palouse, an area of rolling hills, big skies, and beautiful sunsets.

The Cascades — My favorite thing about living the in the Northwest has got to be the sticky IPAs. So tasty. Besdies that, the Cascades mountain range is my church. The views are mind blowing and the physical challenges these mountains present keep me humbled.

Sticker Projects

I've always loved stickers. Back in the day they were the real kind that you'd stick to your Nalgene, Thule box, or laptop. I still do that, but in the day-and-age of the iPhone we're blessed to have iMessage Sticker Packs and I'm losing my mind working on several sticker projects simultaneously.

Peruse my current projects and feel free to buy packs for you, your friends, and at least one person you don't like all that much. If you need help with sticker packs, the simplist explaination I've come across is this Youtube video.

Tempe Diablos

This is my first release, a bit of an homage to my alma mater and the group of friends I've been tailgating with off-and-on since the early 2000's. A niche sticker pack indeed, but I think there are plenty of ASU fans out there who will get some good use out of this. Download from the App Store

and now, for a little about myself…

Designer, photographer, and dog dad currently living & working out of Pullman, Washington.

I have been designing visual materials and websites for ten years, initially having cut my teeth as the content creator for a craft brewery and on a plethora of freelance projects for small business and event promotions.

In previous professional lives I've worked as a Habitat Biologist, Zookeeper, and Rockclimbing Instructor. This variety of experience has shaped the way I envision new projects and where I draw much of my inspiration. I love adventures and am always looking for the next epic in work and life. When I'm not hustling on a project I'm getting lost somewhere around the Pacific Northwest.

It's my goal and my passion to help intriguing, ethical businesses and ventures look good. Whether it's in print or on the web, I'm continually energized by creating great work with awesome people.
